The eco-friendly cars, bikes and vans have been especially selected for their combination of low running costs and low emissions without compromising on style, performance or comfort. Almost all are available from local suppliers now. Exhibitors include: * What Car's Green Car of the Year 2009. * Greenfleet's Electric Car of the Year 2008. * The world's most affordable hybrid family car. * The UK's first plug-in Prius hire scheme. * Congestion-charge free vans. * Stylish retro electric scooters. * The world's lightest electric bicycle. * The perfect bicycle for commuting in a suit. * Hydrogen fuel cell and biomethane prototypes. Local businesses will also have the opportunity to receive free advice regarding green fleet management from representatives of TfL's Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), and visitors will be able to test their driving skills on an eco-driving simulator. Cllr Knight said:” Camden Council is absolutely committed to taking our share of the responsibility for tackling climate change, improving air quality and improving the environment both globally and locally for future generations. Events like the Green Motor Expo are important in helping encourage more alternative environmentally friendly transport options. We know that companies and individuals are prepared to make changes as long as the solutions are reliable and do not compromise their performance. One of today’s aims is show the huge range of solutions now on offer, many of which will actually improve on operating costs saving money over the life-cycle of the vehicle". Around ten of the vehicles will be available for test drives around Regent's Park, Marylebone and Euston. The event takes place from 10 till 4pm on Thursday 24 September at Triton Square Plaza, NW1.
